Battelle's Health and Life Sciences division is currently seeking telephone interviewers for their Durham, NC operations to assist with several research projects.

There is no marketing, collections, or selling involved. Using a telephone and a computerized questionnaire, Battelle telephone interviewers conduct surveys with participants in a variety of interesting and important health research studies. New interviewers will be trained to conduct a survey about study participants’ work, health history, and lifestyle. Training will be held in mid-July, and interviewing will begin in August 2008.

Telephone Interviewers are Battelle Employees. They will work from our Durham, North Carolina office, near I-40 and Research Triangle Park.
The starting salary is $10/hour or more based on relevant experience, with a salary and performance review in four months. Hours are flexible, including daytime, afternoon, and evening.

Required Qualifications:

•Must work at least 20 hours per week (up to 40 hours per week), including at least two weekend shifts per month. Interviewers have the opportunity to submit a proposed, new schedule each month.
•Must attend all scheduled training:
o July 14-16 from 6pm-9pm
o July 21-22 from 6pm-9pm
•Must be able to speak clearly and ask questions containing complex medical terminology.
•Must have experience using a personal computer.
•Must be willing to switch to new or additional research studies as directed by management.
•At least HS Diploma or GED.
•All candidates are subject to drug screening and criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in health care, research interviewing, call centers, or paid/volunteer work involving direct contact with the public is preferred, but not required.
